Shadows

The copy I have of The Catcher In The Rye is getting quite dirty, and it was really bugging me. So this morning I decided to put one of my book covers on it, and so now I do not have to look at the smudges on the cover. The smudges look like they were made from pencil, but I dunno how they go there. My night stand does not have any pencils near it, and I keep it in a safe place inside my bag when I take the book to school. I mean don't get me wrong, I like used books a lot, but I just don't like making new books look used. I am even bothered when I am forced to write in a book for school (all though I usually get around that.) I dunno why, but it just feels wrong to write in a book. So today everyone was admiring my book cover. I actually was reading this morning when we had those speakers come and talk to us. I really enjoyed having extra time to read. lol!

Yesterday was a blast! I actually job shadowed a teacher (just for kicks I will call him mr. x) at one of the middle schools we have here. In the morning I went over to Starbucks and bought a frap for me, and a coffee for the teacher I was shadowing. When I first got there the first thing I got to do was copy papers. Oh how lovely that is! lol! Now I know why a lot of teachers dislike coping papers, although they are probably more experienced with the copier then I am. I think the copier jammed about 5 times, but I finally finished the job. And then I went back to the class room, and I had to empty jars of sand. I was trying to be as quiet as possible, because the kids were taking a test, but I kept clanking the jars together while I was moving them to the dishwasher. So after all that was done I went over to the library and hung out there until everyone was done with their tests. I then went to some classroom (because mr. x was on his prep), but I had no idea what the heck they were doing, and so after that class was finished I went down to the cafeteria, where my mom works. I had lunch with all of the ladies down there, and then went back to the mr. x's room. The classes were now in session, and I was able to see what mr. x's class was working on. Like I said, I had a blast! These kids were so awesome! I was able to help them, and give them some ideas of how they could approach some of the questions they were given. The time flew by! After that class was dismissed, everyone went to lunch, so I had to go help in the cafeteria. I didn't do much, but I already know that I am not fit to be a cafeteria lady. lol! After lunch I ran into one of the teachers that I new from middle school, and I told him that I was shadowing. He asked if I wanted to be a teacher, and I told him that I may want to be an English teacher. And then I was able to scoot on over to mr. x's room again. That was the last class of the day, and probably the most quite class I have ever seen. So I just walked around a bit, and passed out some papers. I couldn't read the name on one of the papers, and so I asked mr. x and he shouted the name out. The kid came up to me and said I had insulted him. I thought that was kinda funny though. So to make a long story short, I really had a terrific time there, but I wish the day would have lasted a bit longer. Ha, I didn't think I would ever say that about school! lol!

The Weekend Fests

The Wizard of Oz festival was this weekend, but I wasn't able to go this time. Hopefully next year the dive will be shorter for me, and i will be able to check it out.
But I was able to fit in another fest for the weekend. I don't think weekends are as fun without going to some kind of festival. lol! The appleseed fest was this weekend. I dunno how crowded it was today, but I know there was a pretty desent crowd yesterday. The j.a. festival is fun, but there really isn't a whole lot to say about it.
So other then that I have been pretty much reading The Catcher In The Rye.

Next Week

Next week is going to be pretty sweet! I know Friday will be awesome, because first period is going to be about 72 minutes. I can't wait! You know, a few of my friends have asked me why I am taking that class. I always recieve funny looks when I tell them that I am taking it for fun. I know this is all quite a bit random. I would say a bit more about this wonderful class, but it sounds like I have to get going. ttyl!

Just Things

Just today, as I was reading, I looked over and saw the three composition books I have sitting on a shelf. The deals were so great for those things during back to school time, and I just couldn't pass that up. Although, it doesn't seem right to let them sit there empty. I have no idea how I got hooked on those notebooks in the first place. I think the addiction came after I had read Harriet The Spy. I always wanted to be this cool kid in the corner writing secret things, hiding in dumb waiters spying on people, and having this whole spy kit thing. Needless to say, I was just a kid with a composition book. Yup, I think I always wanted to be like the characters I read about. That is what also started my converse fascination. I read about a character who loved them, and then I had to ask my mom what they were. She pulled out an old pair, and for many years I have worn, and loved them. I still wanna be a cool kat, but I am not as hung up on being like fictional characters as I used to be.

Ok, so yesterday I went to another one of those craft fair things (they rock!). The first stop is always the cheese ball stand, and this year we got to the stand early enough to claim a front spot in line. As we walked around a bit, I noticed that the curly fry line seemed extra long this year. Actually, the line looked like it would never end. I thought at first that curly fries were the new craze, but I was proven wrong later when the cheese ball line became just as long as the curly fry line. Well I actually haven't gotten to the sad part yet. Last year, I put a coin down on the train tracks - which are right next to the fair - and a train went over it. I was going to pick it up, but then these kids came over and said that it was their coin. I knew it was my coin, because I had put down a dime, and they had put down pennies. They claimed it was too dark to tell, but I knew it was my coin. I just let it go though, because I figured that I would be able to make another one the next year. But while we were at the fair there were 3 trains that went by, and each time the went by we were to far to run over and put a coin down. So my goal is to one day be able to have a coin smushed by a train. I have always kinda been into coins, and I have a collection of flat pennies. And actually one time I found a coin from the UK that had been run over by a few cars. I have no idea what I am going to do when I finally get a coin run over by a train. :) lol!

This is most likely terribly dull, and I am afraid that if anyone dares to read this entry that they may fall asleep. I have no idea how I can make the entry more exciting, so I think I will stop right where I am at. Ta ta.
