The Lava Lamp
Left Handed Guitar
There was a live Paul McCartney concert on PBS last night. At first I was just going to watch it for a few minutes, and then I ended up seeing the whole thing. Each time I want to go to bed at 9:30 it ends up being 10:00 or 11:00. Anyways, when I first turned on the concert at 10, I didn't expect much out of it. The begining didn't fully entertain me either, since he was playing a few numbers from his newest album. But then he started playing music with glasses, and then showing everyone how he could mix all these different sounds together. It was really neat! And I am assuming that Paul is a Redwings fan, since one of his left handed guitars had the Redwings symbol on it. The Redwings have to be the best team Michigan has, and maybe the Pistons as well. Wow, I keep going off my topic. Uh...then Paul displayed how he has to hold a right hand guitar. He also played the song that got him into the Beatles. Which I think was probably my favorite part of the show. And there were a few Elvis songs stuck in there as well. Oh, and this English Tea Time song he sung was pretty cool. But all in all, it was pretty enjoyable, but not somthing that I wish I would have taped.
Yellow Paper
Hope everyone had a great v-day! Today was pretty rad, and it was full of interesting things. For example, in Journ. Elizabeth was trying to type "the" in a word document, but each time she tryed it turned into "balls". And at lunch we were talking about people allergic to laytex, and that was a really interesting conversation. I think there really isn't a reason to descibe it further, however, so I will leave that for you to figure out. Hmm I know there were other funny things abou the day, but I actually can't remember them all. I was happy that I was able to go discuss my schedule today during class. I decided to go for ap english. yay! And hopefully Becky and I will be in that class together, and maybe even photography. Yeah well anyways, I had to fill out this sheet today to apply to be a mentor. So I was reading these questions and I asked me to list 3 teachers. And then I had to write words they would use to describe me as. So I actually had to think about my answers. The after I was finished filling the yellow sheet out, Becky called. I told about what I had to fill out, and that I also had to write what I thought how my friends would descibe me. Then Becky said "Don't put me down as a reference!" And I just started laughing, since I was only teacher refrences. I still wonder why she didn't want to be written down as a reference. lol! She told me who she would have written down, and we both agreed on one teacher. I can't believe she would put down the math teacher as a reference. Anyways, that was the best parts of my day. There were probably more parts, but I forgot them. Have a good day!
Another Holiday
Feeling extreamly lucky last night, (I didn't have any homework for once) I decided to start cutting hearts out of fabric. I am making them for some friends for v-day, since it seems that passing out cards and candy is popular this year. Well at least it is with our group, and a bunch have already passed cards out already. It's insane! I am going to make them into heart pockets (by using my sewing knowledge that i learned from sewing class. lol!) and put candy in them. yay! After all that hard work I wouldn't doubt it if they were thrown away, but if at least one person keeps theirs I will be happy! Ok so last night I was cutting them out and laying them out on the floor. And I guess I wasn't paying much attention, and my puppy must have come in and stole one. Because later I was counting them, and I was looking all over for this one heart that I was missing. When I finally found the heart it was all slobbery, and it had a tooth mark in it. My doggie is so silly! So now someone will get a half chewed heart, but once I sew it up no one will be able to tell (i hope). Then I went back to the hearts, and my puppy came in again. She was about to steal another one, but then I laughed and took it from her. It was the funniest thing though! I guess you had to be there. So that was my wonderful afternoon yesterday! yay!~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Racecar spells Racecar backwords! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~I have a spanish song stuck in my head. The spanish teachers are always playing spanish music, and the songs always get stuck in my head! lol! So now I am listening to some tunes to try and shove spanish songs out of my brain. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~In math class we were talking about how much static there is in the room. Then I said it would be cool if the static shocked math inside you, and the teacher just laughed. Yeah I guess you would have had to have been there for that one as well.
The Stones really weren't Rolling
I watched the super bowl half time last night. I really thought The Rolling Stones would be awesome, but to me they weren't very good live. Or maybe it's because they were trying to be young again, and that just wasn't happening. Although, they did sing "Start Me Up" I wasn't about to go online after the show to dowload the music. And it was one dissapointment after another, when the Stealers won. Actually, it didn't matter much to me, but I am sure someone out there was upset. QVC did have this really rad Rolling Stones t-shirt, which had the mouth on it and at the end of the tongue was a football. The t-shirt supposedly sold out, and I know they won't have it back in stock. I figure it wasn't really a moment that I need to remember anyways, and I don't really need another t-shirt. So it's all good! And my white cat was just batting at the kite that was on my wall. And it fell down right on top of her, but what does she do? She runs away, and then comes right back over to lay on top of it. At it looks like she is going to slide off the end of it,and hurt herself. My cat never seems to learn her lesson, which is why I should probably go fix the kite. Ohh good save Kit!
Weekend
Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble. For the first time in awhile there actually weren't any books that interested me. So I went to the music section to see if there was something I could buy. I was extreamly excited to see that "Revolution" was on one of the Beatles cds. I really like that song! lol! So I ended up with that cd, which is the Past Masters Vol. 2 (in case you want to know). I also saw a Paul McCartney Live cd that I was going to pick up, but I deicded to get it some other time. Since I will be going back there soon to pick up a cd that I ordered. I thought I would really like the new INXS cd, but the only song I really like on there is "Pretty Vegas", which I already bought from iTunes anyway. To bad iTunes doesn't have any Beatles songs on it though. It does have sing alongs that are avalible for purchase, but I figure I would rather sing to the real song. Oh and when I was walking over to the music section I saw the huge new bio on the Beatles. I do remember seeing it around Christmas time, but I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention then. It always scares me to actually even think about reading a 900 page book thought. I did, however, look into "Ticket to Ride" and that one seems to suit me more. So anways, I haven't been doing much this weekend. It seems like almost every Sunday I feel like I have wasted my weekend. I guess that would probably be because they go so fast. I do have a new goal though. Listening to "Who Could Win A Rabbit" over and over again made me want to know the words. It is really driving me nuts! When I first heard it in English class I thought it was the weirdest song I had ever heard, so I bought it off of iTunes. Since then I have been listening to it a lot, and I figure it would be nice to know the real words. Guessing what the words are is one thing, but knowing is a whole different story. I may never know the real words, but I suppose it is worth actually trying to figure out. Or maybe it is a waste of my time and I should actually enjoy the song for what it is. Oh and as you know the Super Bowl is on today. I am not a fan of many sports, so that's why I am posting right now. The only cool thing is that it is in Detrioit, which is where I am originally from. Actually, there is a second cool thing, the Rolling Stones are playing at half time. They are pretty cool! I do think that Paul McCartney did a good job last year during half time. Mom still says that Michael Jackson had the best half time show ever. I hope the Rolling Stones do a good job though, and maybe they will sing "Start Me Up"! Yeah well I guess I will go now, and uh find something to do. Actually, I have to go do my homework. Thankfully there isn't much to be done.
Lazer Shopping
After school I went home, and I lost track of time a little bit. The problem was was that I was listening to my i-pod and practicing some hip hop dance moves and I was in my own world. Anyways, I was supposed to be at Becky's by 3:30, but like always I am fashionably late. This time I actually had to ring the door bell, which was unusual since she normally is ready to go when I arrive. I guess she was baking a cake, and if it was done I would have stuck my face in it to call it. lol! By the time we got to Lazer X it must have been a little after 4, and we were the first ones there. I am not sure how much time had passed, but in the end we had a group of 10 people. Well the first thing I wanted to do was to step on the ddr machine. Ok I have 3 of the games at home, but I couldn't resist. I cannot remember who I went up against, but my friends and I played several games. And this dude was watching us the whole time, and I am just pretty much up there dancing it out. So when we were done he was all like "Can I play?" I said sure and he put his 3 tokens in, and man that boy could dance! You couldn't see his feet, because he was flying so fast! It was wicked! After everyone pushed their jaws back together we decided to go pay for 2 lazer tag games. I had never played before, and was itching to go uh "lazering." We each payed our $10 (which was for two different games), and then waited to be called. We all ended up in a room in which the game was explained. There were 4 others that were going to be apart of the game as well so we had to forfit 3 of our players. We quickly put on the vests and held onto our guns (mine in spy position) and went for it. I was pretty horrible at the game, and recived a 457 my first time. My second time was worse though and I ended up with a 300 something. The whole this was super fun though, and we all got a good workout! So then Becky had to hit the road, and all the others were going to a movie. So Casey and I walked across the street and went to the mall. We walked in and saw Trevor coming our way. I never think fast enough, and was going to say that I enjoyed his performance the other night. But I pretty much walked past smiling and I did manage to get a smile back. woot! So then Casey was all like "Was that Trevor?" And I was like yeah, and then said to her that he did a great job at the variety show. I guess Casey knows his bf or something and was talking about that too. I was like ok cool. We walked around a bit, and when we got to Build-A-Bear we almost freaked out. The spot where Nirvana usually was was empty. I didn't think they would have gone out of bussiness, since everytime I had been in there they had people looking around. Which really doesn't mean much, but I love that store! I bought my Beatles hoodie there, which happened to be the last one, so I think no one will copy me this time! But then we were able to breath easier when we happend to go by where the old Dry Ice used to be. Since Dry Ice had to go bankrupt Nirvana moved in their spot. The we basically went down to the food court, and Casey bought her 87 cent taco thingys and I got a coke. For some reason I really wasn't hungry, but it worked out alright. I still have money left! yay! We sat at one of the tall tables (they are the BEST!) and talked for 3 hours. I couldn't believe it but it happened. And then left....yup and that is my lovely story. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~In art class this morning we got to listen to music. Which we actually get to do every day of the weekday, but this wasn't just any ordinary music. It was the Beatles 1 cd, although the teacher didn't seem to know when I asked if it was. She just had a burned copy of it I guess. I knew right away that it was though, but the person who burned it didn't put all the songs in order. So then everyone starts singing, and it was really fun! Then I started to sing before one of the songs started, and then the song started, and Viv started laughing. It was funny at the time. I guess you just had to be there. So then Viv and I start discussing the Beatles, and she started talking about how Yoko messed them all up. And I said "Yeah, Yoko was muy loco." And she got a kick out of that one. Then later I said that I would have all of the songs stuck in my head the rest of the day, and then I would go home and play them on my i-pod. So yeah that was the highlight of my school day. lol!
Variety Show
I went to the Variety show last night. It was awesome! This show was a million times better then last year! The first act was a band, and I can't actually remember what they sounded like so I assume they were good. Carly came on after them, and I was so shocked. I actually didn't know that she was a singer, and I enjoyed her performance very much. But then Trevor came on. He was terrific! That guy can really dance! I love watching people dance! My friends have told me I am good, but um they didn't see Trevor zooming across that stage! I was amazed! It would be so awesome to dance like that! So anywho, there was a band after him, they were at last years Variety show, and they were ok. Oh I then after them this girl, Heather, came on and did this really cool martial arts thing. It was really tight. And she made it look easy! All these cool kick, punch, stick swinging moves. Ah yes and after her all these guitar playin' dudes walked on to the stage. And I was totally thinking "Hotel California", and Mike walks onto the stage. Ha and he started singing "Hotel California." He was pretty good too! Then Swain pops back onto the stage and starts plucking these rad tunes. Although, I can't tell you if he was a good singer or not, because his struming was covering up his voice. That song lasted a while, at least that what it seemed like, and then he just moved positions on the stage, and another band comes on. I actually can't remember who these guys were, but I am sure I have a picture of them. Next up was Kailly. She danced to a Missy E song (I think) and she um did her thing. And then, omg, Greg came on! He was so hilarious! Many students agreed in the halways (people talk so loud in the halls, i guess they want to be heard) today! lol! I agree with him on the dum dum thing! The bank should have dum dum suckers at the atm machine after you complete your transaction! And after that gut-buster was over with, here comes a Paul McCartney song. I actually didn't expect one to appear, but Blackbird was deffinatly sung by Andy. Then someother band went on stage. And then I believe the country bumpkins arrived and sang some song I had never heard of and danced around like they were loco. Yes then Hillary arrived, she was in it last year and I wouldn't doubt it if she had been in it before as well, and sung some country sounding song. She is a really great singer! She would totally make it to Hollywood is she went to Idol. Anyways, then these girls came on (I have the program next to me, but I don't feel like typing in everyones name) and they did this kind of tap dance hip hop dance. It was so awesome! And I loved the song they were dancing to, but I can't find it on iTunes. I know what it is called and everything, but it didn't show up. Yeah well they were awesome! THEN Mike and Nate came on (Wacky and Paki) and did this (there isn't a word that I can think of to discribe how awesome this really was) spectacular piano performance! It was awesome! Oh oh and then these dudes with crazy fury hats came on and did this awesome rendition of "Ice, Ice, Baby", and it was really sweet! Oh and then there was a finally band with Tommy sining "Chicago", which at this point most people start to get up. But there was NO way I would leave early. I mean I paid $5 for my ticket, and I was going to try and milk it for all it was worth. So when I was pretty much the only one left in the audience I decided to leave. So yeah that was the Variety show, without the comedy from the emcees, or the short clips, or any of the extra things spoken of here. Well there was thing I do remember. One of the emcee dudes was doing one of the Top 10 things and he was talking about the emo guys. And he said "I wish my grass was emo so then it would cut itself." I just thought that was so funny for some reason. It took me a second to stop from laughing. Actually, most were cracking up too, so it wasn't like everyone turned around to shut me up or anything. Yeah well I guess that about raps it up. Chow peeps!
